A 6.0 earthquake hit the small Nevada town of Wells Thursday moning, February 21st, 2008, just after 7:00am. Some buildings were left unharmed, but many were severely damaged.
It is estimated that in the 24 hours after the earthquake, there were approximately 27 aftershocks, ranging in intensity from 2.3 to 4.6 on the Richter scale.
The Red Cross said Friday that 182 people were unable to return to their homes that night.
The shake was felt all the way in Utah, by Salt Lake City residents.
It is estimated that only 15% of homeowners who have home insurance in Utah, actually have earthquake insurance.
